Local businesses have what you need this Valentine's Day

Love local this Valentine’s Day

Looking for ways to say ‘I love you’ this Valentine’s Day? Whether it’s a loved one or a friend who deserves to know how much you appreciate them, why not tick off your shopping list and show your love for local businesses at the same time. With cards and gifts to tasty treats and flowers, Ealing has everything you need to make this Valentine’s Day special.

Many local businesses have adapted and expanded their services with online ordering, delivery, and collection services, making it even easier for you to support local businesses.

And if booking a delicious meal is on the menu, from Acton to Southall, there are so many great places to choose from. Just be sure to check out their hygiene rating through the Food Standards Agency’s Food Hygiene Rating Scheme before making your reservation or ordering your take-away. You can also download a free app to look up businesses on the go.

We encourage people to visit one more than the 1,800 food businesses rated “4 – Good” or “5 – Very Good” in the borough.

Why choose local

Apart from being right on your doorstep saving you time and money on travel, local businesses are key to Ealing’s economy, creating local jobs and helping to pay for vital services such as libraries, parks, and roads.

Ealing’s mix of independent shops also often stock unique and locally made items and their staff can share their expertise and knowledge, providing that personal experience to help you find what you are looking for.

Share your support

Supporting local businesses does not just mean spending money. If you have had great customer service, an excellent meal or found a great product, take a minute to let them know or share on social media. Letting others know about your experience is invaluable to local businesses.

You can support businesses by:

  • Liking, following and sharing your favourite businesses on social media. Engage with their posts and share their stories
  • Tag your favourite shops in your social media posts and share with your friends and online community groups
  • Take time to leave online reviews of businesses you love and spread the word by telling others about positive experiences
  • Show your support by signing-up to mailing lists to get the latest news and offers and share with others

Don’t forget to use #LoveEalingLoveLocal in your posts so we can help spread the word too!
