Free support programmes for small businesses

Three free support programmes are now available to small and medium sized businesses, including self-employed, sole traders, co-operatives and social enterprises in Ealing to help protect, nurture and expand them.

The programmes include one-to-one support, personalised advice sessions by experienced business advisors, webinars on a wide range of topics, peer-to-peer learning groups and networking sessions with other local businesses.

Funded through government’s additional restrictions grant, the business support programmes aim to help businesses impacted by Covid-19. They are open to small businesses in Ealing employing no more than 249 employees. Some programmes might have additional eligibility criteria.

Ealing Trades Online

To help businesses with little or no online presence to get noticed and start trading online, this unique programme of free digital support to small businesses will help you to:

  • Improve your online presence
  • Build a website
  • Learn how to use digital tools to save time
  • Grow your audience on social media
  • Run a crowdfunding campaign
  • Produce engaging video content
  • Offer your customers local delivery
  • Implement cyber security
  • Rank higher on Google
  • Sell through online marketplaces and much more.

You will receive one-to-one support and attend webinars on different topics.

Ealing Business Accelerator

To help new and existing businesses to survive and grow, this programme includes one-to-one support by experienced business advisors to develop strategies for improvement through personalised one-to-one online consultations, group learning discussions, marketing sessions and various webinars. Topics include from business idea to business model – how to do it; building resilience through planning and delivering standout sales pitches.

Ealing Winning Tenders

This programme aims to equip businesses with the skills and knowledge for winning tenders and new contracts through online workshops and clinics.

Good jobs for Ealing

Ealing’s Plan for Good Jobs is the council’s action plan that sets out the short-term actions that are needed to help Ealing’s economy recover from the pandemic. The plan sets out a number of key priorities for the council and its partners including helping residents into gainful employment by making it easier for them to find jobs, retrain and develop new skills for growth sector employment. Focus will also be on protecting and nurturing existing businesses and encouraging local employers to work with the council to create good jobs.

Ealing’s Plan for Good Jobs is the council’s commitment to help the borough get back on its feet and create a sustainable economy.
