The festive season is here, and with it comes a splash of colour and creativity from the borough’s budding young artists.
Ealing Council has announced the winners of its annual Christmas card competition, a tradition that brings seasonal cheer to the community.
The theme this year was Christmas in our towns, and more than 150 entries were received. The winners for each category are:
- 6 years and under: Shrina Pathak from Dormers Wells Primary School
- 7-11 years old: Helen Soo from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School
- 12-18 years old: Leen Khatab from Brentside High School
Helen Soo, aged 10, wowed the judges with her bright and eye-catching design (pictured above), earning her the title of overall competition winner. Her artwork will feature on the front of this year’s official Christmas card sent by council leader Peter Mason. The other 2 category winners’ designs will appear on cards sent by the council’s chief executive, Tony Clements, and deputy leader, Councillor Louise Brett.

Councillor Mason praised the entrants. He said: “It’s always a joy judging the designs each year, there is a lot of talent in the borough. The creativity and effort shown by all participants was outstanding. These designs truly reflect the joy and diversity of our community during the festive season.”

The competition, held annually, encourages children and young people to showcase their artistic talents while celebrating the holiday spirit.
Thank you to everyone who took part and helped to spread some festive cheer.
