Thinking about buying your Christmas tree? It can be a lot of fun putting it up and decorating it, but less so when it comes to saying goodbye to it. Save yourself the stress and recycle it once the decorations are down.
Between Monday 5 January and Friday 23 January 2026, you can leave your tree out for kerbside collection as part of your regular collection services.
Most collections will happen on the same days as your black (rubbish) bin schedules – check the council’s rubbish and recycling collections page for more details. Trees can only be collected if they are no taller than 6 feet and with a trunk smaller than 20cm in diameter. No decorations, and real trees only please.
Alternatively, you can bring your tree to Greenford Reuse and Recycling Centre in Greenford Road or to one of the designated parks and open spaces across the borough listed below. If you plan to take it to Greenford Recycling Centre, you will need to pre-book an appointment online through the council’s website.
If you live in a flat or use a communal bin service, you will have to take your tree to one of the outdoor drop-off locations. You can do this until Friday 23 January 2026.
If you are dropping off trees, you are asked to only place them in the designated areas and make sure they do not block access, pathways or roads.
