The Rickyard in Ealing

Why not celebrate at the Rickyard?

Located in beautiful Walpole Park, in the heart of Ealing, the Rickyard is the perfect venue for small social celebrations

It was built in 2014 as part of the Ealing Council’s project to lovingly restore the park to its Regency heyday when it formed the grounds to Sir John Soane’s Pitzhanger Manor House, and thereby reveal its connection to his vision for the building and surrounding landscape. Soane, an internationally renowned architect, bought and redesigned the site. The house is currently undergoing a similar restoration process to the park.

Named after Soane’s old cow yards and rickyards, which stood on the site in the 1800s, the Rickyard serves as an education and activity centre. It provides groups, schools and families a place to host events – on Friday evenings after 5pm and at weekends – for up to 50 guests. The Rickyard also houses a popular café kiosk that is open most days, public toilets and outdoor seating.

“The Rickyard is a fantastic combination of an indoor venue set within a stunning park with a private courtyard area. It has a lot of flexibility in terms of bringing in your own catering making it an ideal space for children’s parties and family, social celebrations as well as community events” said Jane Coughlan, the council’s hospitality and events manager.

The environmentally-friendly building features a large open space room, private courtyard as well as kitchen facilities. It features a water system that collects rainwater and reuses it in the building’s toilets, as well as a flat, turfed roof planted with flowers that provide food in spring and summer for bees and other insects.
