Need help getting online?

Do you find online forms confusing? Would you like help using a smartphone, tablet or computer? Or do you know someone who does?

Ealing Council is inviting residents to attend Ealing Gets Digital, a free event designed to help people gain confidence online and find out about support available across the borough.

As part of Get Online Week, residents can drop in for friendly support and practical advice on using online services, or to improve their digital skills.

Get practical help

The event will be held on Monday 19 October 2026, from 11am to 3pm, in the South Atrium, Perceval House. Visitors can come along on the day or those already online can book a place in advance. Discover local organisations, get practical help and learn about services that can make everyday life easier.

From booking a GP appointment and using the NHS App to managing household bills or keeping in touch with loved ones, being online can help people stay connected and access important services more easily.

If you have a relative or friend who lacks confidence using technology, why not encourage them to come along with you? The event is designed to be friendly, welcoming, and easy to access.

Help spread the word

Throughout the day there will be free 30-minute sessions on topics including:

  • staying safe online
  • using the NHS App
  • how AI can help in everyday life

There will also be information about digital support available in the borough, including free data SIM cards for eligible residents. Visitors can also bring along unwanted laptops, tablets and other digital devices to the event’s device donation point, where they will be securely recycled or refurbished to help others get online.

Councillor Stephen Donnelly, the council’s cabinet member for inclusive economy and efficiency, said: “Being online is becoming an important part of everyday life. We want everyone in our borough to have the confidence and skills they need to use digital services safely.

“Ealing Gets Digital is a chance to get friendly support, ask questions and learn something new. Whether you are taking your first steps online or want help with a specific task, I encourage you to come along.

“If you know someone who finds technology difficult, including an older parent, grandparent, friend or neighbour, please let them know about this event.”

The event is free and you can either register in advance or drop in on the day. Light refreshments will be available throughout the event.
