Get into teaching and training

Welcome to our Get into series, where we will be introducing you to certain sectors and help you understand how you can start a career in it. This time we are focussing on a career in teaching and training.

Career in teaching and training

Teaching is a rewarding job as it gives you the opportunity to have a positive impact on other people and their knowledge. No two days are the same as a teacher and there are many different career paths that you can decide to take once you are a trainer.

Let us help you get ready

Learn Ealing can help you take the first steps towards a career in teaching with level 3 award in education and training. It is taking place every Friday from 4 February to 25 March 2022 from 10am to 1pm online. By completing this course, you will understand the roles and responsibilities of a teacher/trainer and how to plan and deliver sessions that meet students’ needs. There will also be a focus on how to deliver valuable feedback to take into consideration.

Delivered by an experienced professional teacher, we are bringing you this eight-week course for just £50 as a result of an adult education budget funding to increase the vocational courses to help people in Ealing upskill and find better work.

Who is this course for?

This qualification is a knowledge-based introduction to the world of teaching and training that does not require any previous practice. This course is ideal for you if you:

  • Want to work with students aged 16+
  • Want to work as teacher or trainer in the further education sector
  • Are looking for a short-term qualification for more career choices
  • Are currently in a teaching/training role and would like to improve your knowledge.

As promised

Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for decent living outcomes comments:

“Since September 2018 we’ve helped over 4,353 residents successfully achieve a total of 10,826 qualifications and training programmes.

As per the council’s Plan for Good Jobs, we are committed to develop Ealing residents’ skills and expertise so you can get into good jobs and all these vocational courses we’ve carefully prepared for you are part of this commitment.”
