Walking away with a win

May was National Walking Month and we asked you to pick your favourite local walking route. The results are in…

It’s no secret our borough is home to beautiful green spaces and award-winning parks, making it one of the best places in London for a stroll.

And walking is a simple, free way to stay active, boost your mood, and enjoy your surroundings.

But it’s a tough call having to pick just one favourite walk, which is why we asked for your help to crown a winner for 2025.

We shortlisted 8 of the borough’s existing, most popular routes, each one showcasing at least one of our amazing 7 towns.

We also tried to make sure the walks were accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of walking ability — and they all featured some of the borough’s best-loved beauty spots.

And your winner was…

Our online voting page was open in April and May, and a closely contested battle was eventually won by Brent Meadow to Top Lock – a canalside treat, which you can view online in our digital magazine.  Councillor Polly Knewstub, the council’s cabinet member for healthy equal lives, visited it to announce it as the winner – as you can see in the video.

Your fave didn’t make the list?

If your personal favourite didn’t make the list, we’d love to hear about it. So, please email us a photo of you on your top walk and why you like it (to aroundealing@ealing.gov.uk), and we’ll do our best to give it a shout-out in a future article.

Thanks for going the extra mile (pun fully intended!) and getting involved.
