Ealing Summer Festivals - jazz festival crowd

Tune in for tonnes of top music this July

Taking place across two summer weekends in Walpole Park, the Ealing Blues Festival and Ealing Jazz Festival are popular staples of the London music circuit.

This year’s Ealing Blues Festival is taking place on 20‑21 July, between 12noon‑10.30pm.

Nick Lowe, a cornerstone of British music for 40 years, will headline on Sunday.

Nick Lowe’s debut album, Jesus of Cool, featured the top 10 single I Love the Sound of Breaking Glass. A wide-reaching solo career, which includes collaborations with Johnny Cash and production credits for Elvis Costello, has earned him a reputation as a musician’s musician.

Saturday’s bill will be headlined by Kyla Brox, who just won The European
Blues Challenge 2019. Meanwhile, top The Who tribute act Who’s Next
will revive the sound of a band that first cut its teeth at The Ealing Club in the 1960s.

Ealing Jazz Festival will have an excitingly different edge this year, with iconic London club Ronnie Scott’s running the main stage on Sunday to celebrate its 60th anniversary.

The festival is taking place across 27‑28 July, 12noon–10.30pm. The Sunday will feature Andy Davies Band, W3, Judi Jackson, Pee Wee Ellis performing ’50 Years of Cold Sweat’; and Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra.

Brazilian jazz-funk legends Cymande will be headlining Saturday and other big acts will include Joe Armon-Jones, Ruby Ruston and Theon Cross.
