Thousands give their view on Shaping Ealing

Shaping Ealing the boroughwide conversation on the future of Ealing, is well underway and there has already been a big response so far. The Shaping Ealing survey was launched online on 10 November and, so far, more than 6,000 residents and business owners have shared their views and ideas on what matters to them the most.

The Shaping Ealing survey is just the first in a series of engagement activities that are taking place over the next few months, and this process will help the council learn more about your priorities about where you live and work. A series of events are being held across the borough, with the first being a Shaping Southall event that took place on Friday (10 December).

Next summer, following this listening process, we will be presenting our first ideas for the ‘Local Plan’, which is a set of planning policies that will guide the future of our borough, to residents, businesses and others. This is a once in a generation opportunity for us that will in time begin to shape decisions we make about new homes, industrial and employment spaces. Beyond that, it will also be a framework helping us address issues like climate change, health, and inequality.

The more people that get involved in the conversation the better because it will help shape our community for the next 15 years. Watch the video of Councillor Shital Manro as he highlights the important role that you can play in this process and how to get involved.

Future Shaping Ealing engagement activities will be publicised online on this website and on the council’s social media accounts. The draft Local Plan will be presented to residents in the summer of 2022.
