Tennis session tasters at Gunnersbury

Over the coming months Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub will be offering a variety of tennis opportunities to the local community – starting this weekend.

Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekends

Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub (jointly owned by Ealing and Hounslow councils but managed on their behalf by Better) will be holding a variety of tennis tasters throughout the weekends of 18-19 May, 20-21 July and 28-29 September. They will be supported by the LTA and Nature Valley.

On each day there will be 30-minute sessions of mini tennis aimed at children aged between three and 12 years old; while adults can also enjoy 30-minute sessions of coaching followed by half an hour of cardio tennis. Each of these will be free of charge and offers a great opportunity to people of all ages to try out tennis and the Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub courts. These can be booked online.

Tennis For Kids

Tennis for Kids courses will be run at Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub by its tennis manager Ben Moy. These introductory courses cost less than £30 and, for that, children will be given six tennis sessions, a tennis racquet, ball set and a personalised T-shirt. Children who attend will also be offered a promotional offer to join the tennis programme at Gunnersbury Park. These sessions are now bookable online via the Clubspark website or via the following link: https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/TennisForKids/At/gunnersburypark

May half term camp

During the May half term there will be a tennis camp running for children aged between five-10 years old. This will run between 10am-12pm from Tuesday 28–Thursday 30 May. Each day will involve coaching, games and match play with all equipment being provided for the children. The camp is now bookable online via the Better website. It costs £30 for all 3 days or £12 for one day.

Tennis Tuesdays and community tennis sessions

From next Tuesday (21 May), daytime tennis at Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub is changing. Community tennis sessions are expanding from an hour session between 12noon and 1pm to add a further 30 minutes of free court usage up to 1.30pm. It costs £6 and will be bookable online via the Clubspark website. The Tennis Tuesdays women-only session will also be continuing. This £6 session runs from 1.30-2.30pm, with 30 minutes of free court usage between 1-1.30pm. This is bookable via the following link:
