Smartphone now quickest for sending documents

Did you know you can send documents directly to Ealing Council from your smartphone? That way you can do it from home instead of having to visit the council or paying for postage. There is also now a recycling ‘app’ you can download.

All kinds of council services accept documents from your phone or home computer: From parking and blue badges to benefits and schools admissions. You will be offered the option if it is available.

Taking photos of your documents and emailing them to the council is the quickest way to make sure your information is received as soon as possible. Scanned documents from your home computer and scanner are also accepted (or you can get help with this in the council’s customer service centre in Perceval House in Ealing, where scanners are available).

Scans and photos should be clearly readable and displayed the correct way up, and the following file types are accepted: PDF, JPEG, PNG or GIF.

Just make sure each image does not exceed 1MB in size.

MAKING RECYCLING EASIER

The Ealing recycling app delivers information on rubbish and recycling collections to your smartphone or device and allows you to:

  • See details of rubbish and recycling services provided at your address
  • See your next collection date
  • Receive free reminders for your collection day
  • Get information on what you can and cannot recycle
  • Find your nearest recycling centre.

Download the app for free from the Apple store or from Google Play. You can also find the app by searching ‘@home’ in your app store.
