Following a record-high response to our spring Seasons of Ealing photo competition, entries are now open for the summer contest.
Whether it’s sun-drenched parks, vibrant wildlife or those perfect golden-hour moments, we want to see your best shots capturing the borough in the summer.
As with previous contests, the winning image will feature in Around Ealing magazine and the photographer will receive a top prize of a pair of tickets to watch a film at Ealing Picturehouse cinema. Two runners-up will also each receive a cinema ticket.
Our spring competition saw thousands of readers vote for their favourites. After our panel shortlisted 8 entries, the top 3 were put to a judging panel to decide the winner.
And the winners were…
First time entrant Chris van Dyk, of Ealing, took the top spot with a joyful image of a dog running through fields at the top of Pitshanger Park (pictured above).
The runners-up were:
- Dahlia Rahman, a Greenford resident, with her close-up snap of a bee among vivid purple blooms
- Oonagh Heron, who lives in Park Royal, with a striking shot of a fox peeking through a field of bluebells

Thank you to everyone who entered and voted, the judges were blown away by the quality and creativity on display.
Now it’s your turn. Get outside, get snapping, and you could be our summer winner.
Could you be our summer winner?
We would love to see what summer looks like through your lens. It could be a vibrant local event, a peaceful moment in your back garden, a snapshot from your street, or a special family day out, if it captures the spirit of the season, we want to see it.
Email your photo to aroundealing@ealing.gov.uk by the closing deadline for entries, which is 11.59pm on Sunday 2 August 2026.

For your photo to be considered, you must:
- put ‘Seasons of Ealing summer’ in the subject line of the email
- include your name, postal address and phone number
• include a brief description of what the photo is of, when you took it and where you took it - state that the photo was taken by you, and that you also have permission of any people whose faces appear in the photo to enter the photo into the Seasons of Ealing competition
- make sure the image is of a high enough resolution to be reproduced online and in print (poor quality images will not be considered) Files should not be smaller than 1mb
What happens next?
At that point, a shortlist will be selected and put to a public vote. The voters will once again decide the top 3 entries, but then our panel of judges will choose the final winner from that top 3.
The result will be announced in the next edition of Around Ealing magazine.
Other things to know
By entering the competition, you are agreeing for your photo to be reproduced in Around Ealing magazine, on this website, and the council’s social media channels.
No remuneration will be possible, but you will be named as the photographer if it is used in the Around Ealing magazine or website. We will not, unfortunately, be able to reply to everyone who has entered the competition.
If any image is found not to have been taken in the borough, or to have broken any of the other conditions outlined above, the photo will be disqualified from the competition.
The key is that it must have been taken in the borough in the last 12 months – and, it must have been taken by you. Once again, the public will get to influence the final choice, so, even if you don’t enter, you can still get involved.
