It’s official – our trees are brilliant

The council asked you to nominate your choice for our brilliant trees campaign and you have responded…well -brilliantly!

The Brilliant Trees of Ealing campaign is about celebrating some of the most magnificent, beautiful and inspiring trees in the borough.

Trees provide oxygen, clean the air, give sustenance to the local wildlife and stabilise the soil. They bring beauty to borough’s open spaces, parks and streets and aid mental health.

Councillor Deirdre Costigan, Ealing Council’s deputy leader and cabinet member for climate action, said: “We think our trees are brilliant and our residents clearly agree. Our ambitious programme of planting 50,000 more trees by 2030 is helping create an ‘urban forest’ for us all to enjoy. Thank you to everyone who has nominated their local brilliant tree and please keep the submissions coming.”

To nominate a tree you love, you can use any of the council’s social media channels to send in a photo, telling us your name, where the tree is located and include the hashtag #BrilliantTrees. Ideally, please also say what type of tree you think it is.

If you don’t have a social media account, you can email a photo of your favourite tree to aroundealing@ealing.gov.uk, putting ‘BRILLIANT TREES’ in the subject line. And don’t forget to include your name and the location of the tree.

We will regularly feature your choices on this website and on the council’s social media platforms.
