5 Malgorzata Sikora - Northala Fields lakes, mounds and play area

This is your winner of Love Your Place

This picture of the lakes, mounds and play area at Northala Fields was voted as the winner of our first Love Your Place photography competition. It was taken by Malgorzata Sikora and received 32% of votes.

You chose the winner and the runners-up by voting for your favourite picture in our online poll at our @EalingLondon Facebook page, all of which were sent in by readers of Around Ealing magazine and EalingNewsExtra.co.uk

Second place with 26% of votes was Ash Hazari with a photo of their niece and nephew walking through Ealing – framed by blossom-filled trees in Dickens Yard.

And in third place with 19% of votes was Nigel Tooth and his picture of local beekeeper Mel lovingly relocating a swarm of 25,000 honeybees that had landed in the back garden.

Each image captures a moment that made the entrants love where they live.

That was the aim of the competition. A panel selected a longlist of entries, and then a shortlist – which was published in a gallery on this website and @EalingLondon and then voted on.
