Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, Ealing Council’s cabinet member for decent living incomes, explains that the draft new local plan will help in making our town centres even better.
He said: “At the end of November, we launched a consultation on our draft new local plan.
“It will determine how life develops in Ealing over the next 15 years, helping us shape decisions that affect everyone who lives and works in Ealing.
“We want Ealing’s economy to be more inclusive, with a fairer distribution of regeneration and investment so that benefits are spread across our seven towns.
“We recognise how important it is to bring new and well-paid jobs to Ealing, ensuring businesses can thrive and making residents more prosperous.
“We know how important our town centres are, and we want them to be vibrant and resilient.
“The draft new local plan will help us do all that, and you can now share your views about it. Hundreds of local people have already had their say, and we’ve extended the consultation to run until the 8th of February, to make sure that we hear as many perspectives as possible.”
To help make the proposed policies effective, the council wants to understand how they might impact on you, your family, your organisation, your business or your neighbourhood – whether in a bad or good way. By describing how, and explaining why, you can help to shape the plans.
