The Talk Future Ealing roadshow at Hanwell carnival

Let’s talk about Ealing’s future

Ealing Council’s top team is on the road this summer to talk to local people about Future Ealing and how we can make the borough better.

The Talk Future Ealing roadshow has already appeared at Hanwell Carnival. Next up is Greenford Carnival on Saturday, 30 June, followed by Acton Carnival on Saturday,

14 July, Ealing Jazz Festival on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 July. Finally, the roadshow will be at the London Mela on Sunday, 19 August.

Visitors to the roadshow can expect to speak to councillors and senior council staff, learn more about the council’s plans for the next four years, the difficult financial situation it is facing and how residents can help by doing something good for the local area.

People who can’t make it to one of the events can still take part by going online to the Talk Future Ealing room. There they will be able to learn more and leave their comments.

Councillor Julian Bell was at  this year’s Hanwell Carnival talking to local people. He said: “Like all local authorities, we are facing some very tough financial circumstances. We are ambitious for Ealing’s future, but there is no denying that, as government cuts bite, there are some difficult choices ahead and I want to be upfront with people.

“I also want to work with residents; to hear more about what is important to them and to work with them to improve the local area. We are encouraging visitors to Talk Future Ealing to post ideas on ways to make the borough better on our Bubble board, as well as information about groups or activities that they are already a part of. We know that we can’t do this alone; we need everyone’s help and Talk Future Ealing is about encouraging people to think about how they could play their part, big or small.”

People can find out more about ways to help make the local area better by going to the Ealing Bubble website. There are also hundreds of voluntary opportunities available at www.do-it.org
