Have your say on arts and culture

People working in the arts sector in the borough are being invited to register and take part in a free online event with guest speakers and Ealing Council officers.

Guests must register by Monday (22 March) to participate in the live event, which is taking place from 10am-12pm on Tuesday, 30 March.

This a chance to learn about the council’s Greenprint for economic recovery and renewal, and the role that arts and culture can play to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on the borough’s local economy and the neighbourhoods and residents that it supports.

There will also be an opportunity to share ideas that will help to form an action plan and cultural manifesto for the future of arts and culture on Ealing.

This will involve setting up an arts and culture taskforce to help develop this manifesto and action plan – and, eventually, the aim is to form a new Ealing Arts and Culture network. This would be an information-sharing and peer-learning network that could convene once or twice a year with invited speakers around relevant themes.

Councillor Kamaljit Dhindsa, the council’s cabinet member for business and community services, said: “We want to share our knowledge of how the sector is evolving and changing, and the challenges that it faces. We also are keen to hear people’s views and ideas, and their suggestions on how to develop the service for the future.”

Further details, including event format, will follow upon confirmation of registered attendees.
