Register for the upcoming careers fair

Get ready for life after GCSEs

Thousands of students across the borough will be finishing their GCSE exams this month, but what comes next? Come along to a free careers event and explore what options are available.

Ealing Council is hosting a careers fair on Thursday 18 June at Trailfinders in Valis Way, West Ealing. It is open to Year 10 and 11 students, as well as parents and carers.

The event is free, and it is designed to help pupils understand the choices available after Year 11. Register online for the event.

What to expect

The fair will bring together a wide range of organisations under one roof, making it easier for students and families to explore what’s on offer.

Colleges will be on hand to talk through courses in practical subjects such as construction, health and social care, and hair and beauty. There will also be apprenticeship providers, offering the chance to earn while learning, as well as training organisations with alternative routes into different careers.

Visitors will have the chance to speak directly to staff, ask questions and find out what each option involves before making any decisions. Choosing what to do after Year 11 can feel daunting, but the event aims to cut through any confusion and set out the options available in a clear and easy to understand way.

The careers fair follows a successful event last year, which attracted more than 400 students and families. This year, even more organisations are expected to attend, offering a wide range of advice and support.

Find out your options

Councillor Blerina Hashani, the council’s cabinet member for a fairer start, said: “Finishing GCSEs is a big step, and it is important that young people know all the choices open to them. This event is a great chance to learn about different options, ask questions and get clear advice. I would really encourage students, parents and carers to come along and take part.”

The event runs from 11am to 3:30pm. It is free to attend, but you will need to register via Microsoft Form in advance to secure your place.
