Busking around the Christmas tree

Ealing Council wants to hear from talented musicians and performers interested in busking during the lead up to Christmas.

Whether their talent is carol singing, beatboxing, juggling, or magic tricks, the council wants to hear from individuals or groups. Those chosen will be part of the ’12 days of Christmas’ countdown which will take place from Tuesday, 13 December to Saturday, 24 December.

Buskers will be given a dedicated slot to perform in West Ealing or Ealing Broadway.

To apply, performers need to send the council a 60-second video clip along with a few lines about their act. The deadline for submissions is Sunday, 4 December. Full details are available on the council’s website.

Council leader Julian Bell said: “Our town centres really come alive during the Christmas period, with thousands of people visiting them. This is a great opportunity for performers to add to the festive spirit and raise their profile, while earning a bit of money at the same time. We’re looking forward to seeing the audition tapes.”

As well as the usual Christmas lights, the council will also be placing Christmas trees across the borough in eight locations to encourage more visitors and spread some festive cheer.
