A cozy bistro interior with wooden decor, orange balloons, and shelves stocked with bottles and jars. Several people are gathered near the counter, some chatting and others ordering food. A table in the foreground is set with condiments, bread, and herbs, while a person in a red beret sits nearby. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, reflecting a community event or opening celebration.

Branching out: Pear Tree Park Bistro opens

Planning a trip to Pear Tree Park? You will find a new and inviting bistro where visitors can relax, unwind and enjoy a range of refreshments. Owners of the newly opened Pear Tree Park Bistro, Diana Zajdel and Paolo Luongo, have transformed the former cafe in the park into a restaurant serving everything from pizzas and pastries to breakfasts, lunches, dinners and hot drinks.

The opening of Pear Tree Park Bistro last week is the latest milestone in the transformation of Pear Tree Park in Perivale; one of 10 new parks being created by Ealing Council by 2026.

Diana, who lives in Perivale, said: “As chefs, it’s a dream come true to open our own restaurant.”

The bistro includes a dedicated community space for meetings and events. With a grand piano, live music and plans for yoga classes, the venue aims to become a vibrant hub for residents and businesses.

‘A welcoming space for visitors’

Councillor Blerina Hashani, the council’s cabinet member for thriving communities, joined the opening celebrations and shared her enthusiasm for the project. She said: “What a great addition the bistro is to Pear Tree Park. There’s a fantastic community spirit in Perivale and so it was important that we found people who share the council’s vision of putting community at the heart of Pear Tree Park to breathe new life into the venue. Diana and Paolo have done a great job at creating a welcoming space for visitors and I’m excited to see it flourish.”

Pear Tree Park – which is around the same size as 30 football pitches – was officially opened in July 2024 and named by Brentside Primary Academy pupils, Mahad and Taim.

Work is also progressing well to rewild Pear Tree Park. Earlier this year, volunteers of all ages helped plant 5,000 trees in the park and the council’s parks team have planted climate-resistant trees, flowers and plants.

Pear Tree Park will form part of the proposed west London regional park which will span the borough from Horsenden Hill in the north to Warren Farm in the south.

Councillor Hashani added: “Having access to green space, nature and wildlife is essential for everyone’s wellbeing, and our ongoing work to rewild the borough and protect against climate change by planting thousands of trees and expand our parks network means more people than ever can benefit from these vital spaces.”
