New refuse and recycling booking system

Book online to visit reuse and recycling centres

From Monday (17 August) residents will be required to book online and in advance to visit the borough’s reuse and recycling centres in Acton and Greenford.

Ealing Council is introducing the new booking system with the aim of reducing the waiting times of visitors and to help centres run safely in line with government guidelines to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Therefore, from 17 August, residents who do not have a booking will not be able to enter the centres.

Booking for both cars and cyclists will be permitted, however there will be no access for pedestrians due to safety measures which is currently under review.

The council is still limiting slots to observe the government’s rules on social distancing. Anyone who visits must adhere to the coronavirus safety rules at the centre.

You must not visit a recycling centre if you or anyone in your household has COVID-19 symptoms.

Residents can find details of alternative neighbourhood recycling centres on the council’s website and everyone is encouraged to make the most of household waste collections to help manage their waste.

Councillor Mik Sabiers, cabinet member for environment and highways said: “We are introducing this new online booking system for anyone wishing to visit the borough’s reuse and recycling centres to reduce waiting times and ensure social distancing measures are maintained.

“Please make sure you book ahead if you are planning a visit from 17 August when the new system is introduced. Our reuse and recycle centres are of course subject to government rules on social distancing so please do your bit by sticking to the measures to help keep everyone safe when you are on site.

“I’d like to thank residents for their continued efforts to dispose of their recycling and waste items responsibly and we hope this new booking system will make the process smoother, simpler and less time consuming.”

You can visit the West London Waste website for further information and to book a trip.

Please note that from Monday 10 August the recycling site at Waitrose West Ealing, will no longer be available for recycling any materials.
