Cycling in Ealing: share your views

How easy is it to cycle in Ealing? What can the council do to help you to cycle more?

Ealing Council is working with the community to make cycling in Ealing easier and safer. And you can help. Watch a short video to find out how.

Councillor Peter Mason, Ealing Council leader, said: “We promised we will invest at least £10million to increase active travel in Ealing – that’s cycling, walking, running, and scooting.

“As promised in our active travel charter, we will be taking decisions with you – our residents.

“Tell us which cycle routes need improving and where we should create new ones in this short survey by 17 May. We look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas.”

Active travel

Councillor Deirdre Costigan, deputy leader and cabinet member for climate action commented: “Active travel is great – it’s not only healthy, but also improves air quality and reduces harmful emissions from car journeys.

“We are working with partners such as Transport for London to create more cycle routes, such as the recently launched 4km route between Chiswick, Acton Central and North Acton. These routes enable our residents to access jobs, schools and leisure in a healthy and sustainable way.

“These new routes build on our existing network of cycle routes, which are the roads that are the most convenient to navigate by bike.

“Some of our roads are too narrow for separated cycle lanes, so cycle routes can be on or off the road, separated from traffic or along quiet streets, and most of them are signposted.

“We have invested in these routes with upgrades, signage and additional safety measures.”

So why don’t you give cycling in Ealing a go?
