Pupils across the borough are celebrating another year of strong A-Level success, with early results showing that the borough continues to outperform both London and national averages.

While final borough-wide figures are still being compiled, the results received so far point to another successful year for sixth form students across the borough.
Based on returns from the majority of the borough’s secondary schools, 98.2% of A-Level entries achieved grades A* to E, while 60.5% achieved grades A* to B. This places the borough above both the London average of 59.6% and the national average of 55.5% for A* to B attainment.
The early results also show improvement on last year’s outcomes. The proportion of A-Level entries awarded grades A* to B has increased by 3 percentage points compared with 2025, while the number of students achieving the highest grades, A* to A, has increased by 4 percentage points.
Several schools have particular achievements to celebrate. Twyford Church of England School recorded an impressive 47% of A-Level grades at A* to A and 73% at A* to B.
St Benedict’s School also reported an outstanding set of results, with 53% of A-Levels graded A* to A and 82% graded A* to B. The school described the results as its strongest overall performance, excluding the Covid years.
In addition, Islip Manor High School, Featherstone High School, William Perkin Church of England School, Elthorne Park High School and Villiers High School all improved their academic results compared with the previous year.
Schools build on last year’s success
There was also good news for students taking vocational courses. Dormers Wells High School, Islip Manor High School, Featherstone High School, Ellen Wilkinson School for Girls and Greenford High School all reported improvements compared with 2025, with Greenford recording particularly strong progress.
These results point to another successful year for students across the borough and reflect the commitment and hard work of young people, teachers, support staff and families.

Their achievements reflect a huge amount of hard work and determination, supported by teachers, school staff and families across our borough.
“The early results are very encouraging and show the borough continuing to perform strongly compared with both London and national averages. It is particularly pleasing to see many schools building on last year’s success and improving their results further.
“Whether students are moving on to university, apprenticeships, further study or employment, I wish them every success in the next stage of their journey.”
