Ealing Council has been awarded 25 prestigious Green Flags for its much-loved parks, proving that it has some of the best green spaces in the country.
Parks must meet the highest standards, be beautifully maintained and offer excellent facilities to be awarded a Green Flag, as a mark of high quality.
One of the 25 parks awarded Green Flags – Katherine Buchan Meadow in Hanwell – is managed by a community group. Another, Gunnersbury Park, is jointly owned and managed by Ealing and Hounslow councils.
‘Fantastic and free’
Councillor Lauren Wall, the council’s cabinet member for thriving communities, said: “We have beautiful parks and open spaces across the borough, and we’re delighted they have, once again, been recognised for how good they are. Our parks offer something for everyone, whether it’s going for a walk or a run, meeting friends, enjoying nature or giving children somewhere to play.
“As the school summer holidays begin, these award-winning spaces provide fantastic places for families to spend time together outdoors, for free, and make the most of the warmer weather. As well as thanking our parks team for working hard to maintain them, a huge ‘thank you’ must go to all the volunteers who dedicate their time to looking after their local parks too.”

- Ravenor Park
- Southall Manor House Grounds
- Southall Park
- Southfield Recreation Ground

The Green Flag Award scheme is managed by the charity, Keep Britain Tidy. This year it awarded 2,391 Green Flags across the United Kingdom.
