Ready to make a difference?

Do you want to make a difference to where you live? If so, you could sign up to become a Town Team member and get involved in shaping local priorities and taking action in your area.

Town Teams, part of Your Voice, Your Town – a community-led initiative supported by Ealing Council are looking for new members to join and help make a positive difference locally.

It brings residents, businesses, community and faith groups, and councillors together in each of the borough’s 7 towns to create change where they live – from improving local high streets and green spaces to supporting community projects and events.

What is a Town Team?

Town Teams are groups of local people who meet regularly to agree priorities for their area and make things happen.

This includes:

  • working together to turn local ideas into action, with funding used to support this where needed
  • planning activities or events that bring people together
  • identifying issues in the area (like safety and cleanliness) and working with the council and partners to address them

Members are volunteers who work together to achieve shared goals, support local ideas and help turn them into action.

Each team includes a diverse mix of residents, community and faith groups, businesses and councillors, bringing a range of perspectives and experiences.

Town Teams usually meet every month, working together with support from the council to make improvements to the area.

What people said

Southall town team member Mathan Kumar said: “I’ve lived in Southall for over 25 years and really care about the area. Over time, I’ve seen things that I believe can and should be improved, and that’s motivated me to get involved. Your Voice, Your Town gives me a chance to work with others to make Southall a cleaner, better place for the whole community.”

Councillor Lauren Wall, the council’s cabinet member for thriving communities said: “Town Teams are the heart of our communities. They shift power into the hands of people who know their areas best and have the skills and ideas to make a real difference. Most importantly, they bring people together – strengthening connections and building a stronger sense of community. I’d encourage anyone who loves where they live to apply.”
