Young artists across the borough are being invited to design artwork that will be featured at one of the UK’s biggest celebrations of LGBTQ+ communities this summer.
Ealing Council is inviting schoolchildren across the borough’s 7 towns to take part in a creative competition to design its 2026 Pride logo.
The competition is as part of the council’s Pride celebrations, reflecting its commitment to being an inclusive, welcoming organisation and to celebrate the borough’s LGBTQ+ community.
Councillor Paul Driscoll, the council’s cabinet member for healthy equal lives, said: “The council recognises and values the diversity of all people and communities in the borough, and the competition is an opportunity to give children and young people the chance to explore themes like diversity, inclusion, and acceptance for themselves.”
“We are proud to celebrate our LGBTQ+ communities at Pride in London using designs created by local pupils, and to recognise their talent with prizes that support further creativity.”
How to enter
Pupils are being asked to design a logo that represents the borough’s LGBTQ+ community or the wider idea of Pride.
To support teachers and pupils, the council is providing design guidance and a competition poster, which will be shared directly with schools to help give clear, age appropriate prompts and ideas.
The competition is open to both primary and secondary school children.
You can enter by following these simple steps:
- create a colourful picture on plain A4 paper
- include the child’s full name, age, school and t-shirt size
- include contact details of a responsible adult (parent, carer of teacher)
- send a clear photo or scanned image of the picture to lgbtqnetwork@ealing.gov.uk
Entrants are being encouraged to focus on positivity, inclusion and celebration, and children can interpret this in their own way — whether by drawing something that represents the borough’s LGBTQ+ community or the wider spirit of Pride.
You do not need to include labels, messages or explanations to your picture.
The deadline for entries is 5pm on Friday 12 June 2026.
What can you win?
The winning design will take pride of place on flags, stickers and t shirts worn by council staff at Pride in London – with the overall winner also receiving a £100 art voucher and a t-shirt featuring their artwork.
A £50 art voucher will each be presented to 2 runners-up.
