An open book with streams of light and sparkles coming out

Win tickets to Ealing Book Festival 2026

Big names, bold ideas and local talent will take centre stage as the Ealing Book Festival returns to the borough at the end of the month, and there are free tickets up for grabs for Around Ealing readers.

The 5-day event, which runs from Wednesday 29 April to Sunday 3 May, promises an exciting programme of activities.

And, we have teamed up with the festival organisers to offer 10 lucky Around Ealing winners a pair of tickets to join author and actor Stephen Mangan and his illustrator sister Anita Mangan for games, stories and draw-alongs on Saturday 2 May.

Two adults stand side by side against a dark background, facing the camera. One person wears a buttoned olive‑green shirt. The other wears a dark top and has pink‑coloured hair, with a small pair of orange scissors‑shaped jewellery pinned near the collar. One person’s arm is resting around the other’s shoulder.

A star-studded line-up

Visitors can expect to be impressed by an exceptional line-up of international best-selling authors, including: William Boyd, Jung Chang, Anthony Horowitz, Robert Macfarlane, Blake Morrison, and upcoming talents Oyinkan Braithwaite and Lucy Steeds. There will also be a local authors’ showcase, events for families and schools and even guided walks. Events are set to take place at the University of West London, Questors Theatre and Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery.

Now in its third year, the festival also runs a dedicated programme encouraging the borough’s young people to get creative. This year, 5 of the borough’s primary schools will open the festival with a special recital.

As part of the festivities, there’s also a special free family day on Saturday 9 May for children aged 3-12 years old at The Dominion Centre in Southall. The day features 2 story time events with local children’s book authors and a poetry workshop with Narvir Singh. Tickets are free but booking via the Ealing Book Festival website is recommended.

Catherine Jaquiss, Ealing Book Festival’s chairperson, said: “The 2026 Ealing Book Festival promises one of our most exciting programmes yet, with a truly inspiring line-up of significant and well-known authors. This year, our partnerships with the University of West London and Questors Theatre allow us to welcome significantly larger audiences to our most popular events, while our continued collaboration with Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery offers a dedicated programme of culturally inspired talks.

“We remain enormously grateful for the generous support of local businesses and the wider community, without whom the Ealing Book Festival would not be possible.”
