This is the spectacular seasonal snap has been crowned the autumn winner of our Seasons of Ealing photography competition.
As well as the winning photo appearing here, and in Around Ealing magazine, the winning photographer will receive the top prize of a pair of tickets to watch a film at Ealing Picturehouse cinema. The 2 runners-up will also receive an Ealing Picturehouse cinema ticket.
From golden leaves to crisp skies, the entries captured the essence of autumn across the borough.
Our panel first whittled down the autumn entries to a shortlist of photos. These were then put to a public vote — but, just like in previous rounds, the top 3 favourites weren’t the final step. In a twist that always adds a bit of suspense, a judging panel, including a representative from Picturehouse, took one last look and selected the overall winner from those top 3.
And the winners are…
The judges’ winner was Luke Gration with their photo of a squirrel gathering seeds in an Acton garden.
The runners-up were Georgie Brightwell with a picture of ‘golden hour in Gunnersbury Park’.
And Steve Amb’s photo of Pitshanger Lane’s local feline celebrity.
You can view the runner-up photos, and all the other shortlisted entries, in the digital edition of Around Ealing’s winter magazine.
Well done to everyone who was shortlisted and thank you so much to everyone who took part.
Could you be our winter winner?
It’s time for a cold snap. Our winter competition is now open. Whether it’s frosty mornings, festive lights, wildlife in the cold, or snowy scenes — we want to see it. The key is that it has to have been taken in the borough – and, it must have been taken by you.
Once again, the public will get to have a say on who winner might be, so even if you don’t enter, you can still get involved.
The winter 2025 Seasons of Ealing competition will close at midday on Wednesday 21 January 2026. At that point, a shortlist will be selected and put to a public vote.
For your photo to be considered, you must:
- put Seasons of Ealing in the subject line of the email
- include your name, postal address and phone number
- include a brief description of what the photo is of, when you took it and where you took it
- state that the photo was taken by you, and that you also have permission of any people whose faces appear in the photo to enter the photo into the Seasons of Ealing competition
- make sure the image is of a high enough resolution to be reproduced online and in print (poor quality images will not be considered)
What happens then?
When the deadline passes, a shortlist will be selected. As usual, these shortlisted entries will be put
out to a public vote. The voters will once again decide the top 3 entries, but then our panel of judges will choose the final winner from that top 3.
The result will be announced in the next edition of Around Ealing‘s magazine.
Other things to know
By entering the competition, you are agreeing for your photo to be reproduced in Around Ealing magazine, on this website, and the council’s social media channels. No remuneration will be possible, but you will be named as the photographer if it is used in the Around Ealing magazine or website.
We will not, unfortunately, be able to reply to everyone who has entered the competition.
If any image is found not to have been taken in the borough, or to have broken any of the other conditions outlined above, the photo will be disqualified from the competition.
The key is that it must have been taken in the borough in the last 12 months – and, it must have
been taken by you.
Once again, the public will get to influence the final choice, so, even if you don’t enter, you can still get involved.
