New Gen Festival 2025: young people take centre stage

A bold celebration of young people’s creativity, culture, and community is set to return to the borough later this month.

New Gen is a one-day festival of music, dance, art, and expression, where young people from across west London will take over Walpole Park, in Ealing, from 2pm to 9:30pm.

The event is organised by Ealing Council, in partnership with a host of organisations including JE Delve, DIAXPORA, The Metaphorest, Middlesex Pride, Minds to Media, and the Youth Social Network, and is supported by Arts Council England.

Tickets start from just £3 – you can buy them online now.

A stage for every voice

The Main Stage will host a mash-up of emerging artists, DJs, TikTokers, and New Gen alumni, alongside the high-energy ‘Battle of the Boroughs’ dance competition. Expect a diverse range of performances – all powered by the energy of young performers ready to entertain the crowds.

Meanwhile, the Amplify Stage offers a more intimate space for open mic performances, spoken word, drag, and unapologetic self-expression. Amplify is a space where creativity meets courage – and everyone is welcome. Fill in an online form to sign up to the open mic.

More than music

Around the site, festival-goers can explore a vibrant youth market showcasing young designers and entrepreneurs, or drop into the Manga workshop to create their own Manga art. The Game Zone, run by Ealing’s Youth Social Network, offers a chill-out space with fan-favourite games like Minecraft and Mario Kart – all in a sensory-friendly environment.

For those looking to unwind, the Mind Zone provides a lower-energy space to relax and recharge. And for the sporty types, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust will be running football activities – complete with a smoothie bike for pedal-powered refreshments.

New Gen is proudly youth-led, with a year-round programme of open mics, pop-ups, and creative career workshops. The festival is the flagship event – a culmination of months of collaboration, creativity, and community spirit.

‘Come along and experience the magic’

Councillor Blerina Hashani, the council’s cabinet member for thriving communities, said: “New Gen is a brilliant example of what happens when we give young people the space and support to lead. It’s creative, inclusive, and full of energy.

“Whether you’re performing, creating, or just soaking up the atmosphere, New Gen Festival is a space to be seen, heard, and celebrated, so do come along and experience the magic.”
