Welcome to the December 2017 edition of Around Ealing magazine, writes editor Richard Nadal. Here is what to expect in this issue.
It is a time for giving, so help yourself to a voucher on pages 16-17 for a free session at one of the borough’s leisure centres. You can also be generous too, by offering some deserved praise and nominating someone for the next Ealing Sports Awards (p18).
Meanwhile, I hope you will feel inspired by the autumn winner of our series of photo competitions called Seasons of Ealing (see the front cover and page four). We received some brilliant pictures. Keep it up because entries will be accepted to the next, winter-themed competition from 1 December. Show us what you have got.
In this issue you can also read about the latest news in the Save Our Hospitals campaign (p8) and there are two stories on how the council is tackling different aspects of the housing crisis locally (p10 and p13).
We also have stories on the Bookstart programme at our libraries for children (p22), and interviews with carers who work with the council’s Ealing Shared Lives (p19) and fostering teams (p21). And plenty more besides.
Around Ealing will be out next in early February.
Have a merry Christmas, or Chanukah, and also a happy new year.
