The delivery of autumn edition of Around Ealing was delayed after the sad news of the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II on 8 September. The magazine was printed in advance of these events, so it does not contain news of her death. Dates contained in some of the content may also have been affected.
As children begin their new school term, it is also time for many families to plan for the future – with high school places in mind. We’ve got you covered. Turn to page 10 for some guidance, and we have a full list of local high school open days/evenings on aroundealing.com too.
Our schools have been performing so well, despite the interruptions and distractions of the pandemic (see page 11) and it is a real source of pride.
Talking of pride, the front cover hopefully does some justice to how proud we are of Chloe Kelly and her team winning the Euros. What a moment – and what a legacy to build on.
Following the building theme, you can read about the council’s plans for 4,000 new homes on pages 24-25; and articles on its plans to help build the local economy – from jobs to new businesses. And there is a lot more you can read about in this magazine, too – from trials of innovative technology that might help transform and ‘green’ our heating, to new cinemas.
